During these first few days of 2012, I've been thinking about the past year. I know, I know, we should NOT look at the past and constantly look towards the future. I can't help it! It is good to look behind you at what you have done because it helps you make better decisions for your future (in my opinion).
That is what I have been up to lately, well other than working my butt off at my store.
If I had to pick 1 word that described my 2011, it would be: obstacles! My 2011 was filled with them, all the way to the very end. There were so many things I wanted to accomplish last year, but all the various obstacles in life did not allow me to. Lately, I've realized that obstacles are usually not what causes us to fail or do things wrong, it's one's attitude towards overcoming them. My attitude until now, has been to almost want to give up on something simply because I was presented with an obstacle. THAT'S A TERRIBLE THING TO DO!
So I leave you with this; if you have an obstacle in front of you, DO NOT GIVE UP! See the obstacle, deal with it, move around it and keep going! Also think of this; the greatest empires were not destroyed from outside forces, but they destroyed themselves. Don't be the empire that destroys itself.
